CAFETOS DE SEGOVIA, started by Ana and Martha Albir, is a family coffee business that focuses on being transparent and socially responsible with Nicaraguan farmers. Their team aims to provide high-quality coffee while supporting farmers and building strong relationships with partners and buyers.

Visitors to Nueva Segovia, especially in Dipilto or Jalapa, find a fertile and affordable area perfect for coffee growing. The specialty arabica coffee from this region scores between 83-90 and includes varieties like Maragogype, Catuai, Bourbon, Pacamara, Maracaturra, and Catimore. The high altitude and unique climate help ensure great growth conditions, resulting in consistently high quality and outstanding evaluations for CAFETOS DE SEGOVIA's coffee.

Sustainability
CAFETOS DE SEGOVIA aims to support local farmers in adapting to environmental changes and market needs while honoring their traditional farming practices. Nueva Segovia, Nicaragua, is renowned for its high-quality coffee. Farms here range from 1–14 hectares and often excel in competitions like the Cup of Excellence. The Albir sisters, Ana and Martha, took over their family coffee farm in 2007 after their father’s departure due to political issues. They established Cafetos de Nueva Segovia in 2016, milling and exporting their coffee and that of nearby farms. Although Nicaragua typically produces standard coffees, the Albir sisters strive for specialty microlots, experimenting with varieties like Bourbon and Caturra and processing methods like Honeys and Naturals. Their efforts reflect a commitment to enhancing the Nicaraguan specialty coffee market.
