This exceptional coffee comes from the lush lands of Papua New Guinea. It is cultivated in the Kenta region, located in the stunning Waghi Valley within the Western Highlands. The coffee is grown with great care, using a mix of Typica, Arusha, and Bourbon varieties to enhance its flavor. It grows at an impressive altitude of 1600 to 1850 meters above sea level, which contributes to its exquisite taste. After a meticulous 48-hour fermentation process, followed by a thorough wash, every sip of this coffee offers a remarkable balance and a smooth body. About Papua New Guinea Coffee
Coffees from Papua New Guinea are generally wet processed (washed). The plantations exist mostly in the mountainous highlands of Papua New Guinea, predominately on small farms.. Local women rake and rotate the coffee as it dries, over a period of 6–9 days. Coffees from this area are generally Bourbon, Typica, and Arusha.
Kenta Plantation Mill is named after the community and village where it is located, some four hours away from Goroka town. Built in 2011, the mill is a relatively new addition and is equipped with two four-disc de-pulpers and newly constructed fermentation tanks, where coffee is fermented for two days or more before being fully washed.
Although some valleys, such as the Waghi Valley in the Western Highlands, are heavily cultivated and support urban settlements most of the mountains have traditional tribal village communities in the grassy valleys.
